Warner Bros launches Looney Toons channel on Skinker

Warner Bros today launched an additional channel on WB Alerts, the desktop information service developed by Skinkers. The new channel has been launched to coincide with the current movie release of Looney Toons: Back in Action.

Current WB Alerts subscribers will now be the first to receive specific information and multi-media content about everything Looney Tunes related, from information about new features on www.looneytunes.co.uk, to exclusive updates on the new movie Looney Tunes: Back in Action, as well as all the latest movie, DVD and television news, competitions and hot gossip from Warner Bros.

Fans will have the choice of their messages being delivered by animations of either Bugs Bunny or the Tazmanian Devil (Taz). This will be in addition to the existing WB Alerts and Harry Potter channels that have already enjoyed great success since the launch of the service.

Matteo Berlucchi, CEO of Skinkers, commented “We can now provide users with an ‘ever changing’ experience thanks to the ability to automatically add channels to existing Skinkers desktop agents. Warner Bros have realised the potential provided by our unique technology and have decided to take advantage of it. Bringing messages directly to people’s desktops in a fun and engaging way has proven to be up to 4 times more effective than traditional online communication channels”.

The initial decision to launch WB Alerts came from the huge success of the Harry Potter Desktop Owl – also nominated in the 2003 New Media Age Effectiveness Awards. With over 75,000 downloads, The Desktop Owl proved to be one of the most effective online communication channels with the core Harry Potter audience.
