Breakfast Show fans stay alert with Super Moyles
An on-air plug for BBC Radio 1's Mini-DJ has prompted tens of thousands of listeners to download the desktop version of breakfast show host Chris Moyles.
13 August 2004
Developed by Skinkers, Mini-DJ appears either in casual dress or resplendent in y-fronts and a cape, as "Super Moyles". Music and entertainment news, competitions, updates to the Chris Moyles show and information on Radio 1's big events are sent straight to listeners' desktops.
The popular DJ is already a huge fan of his cartoon doppelganger and has talked about it on his show on a number of occasions, each time prompting a massive surge in downloads.
David Long, Managing Director of Skinkers commented: "Chris Moyles' larger-than-life personality makes him the ideal Skinker. Mini-DJ enables Radio 1 to engage directly with their listeners and deliver information in a fun, entertaining manner; this has already proved to be extremely popular with listeners and the Breakfast Show team alike."
